Ingredients

For the Potbrood Buns:

For the Garlic and Herb Butter:

  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) salted butter, softened
  • 1 small garlic clove, grated
  • 3 rosemary sprigs, picked and finely chopped
  • Black pepper, to taste

Method

For the Potbrood Buns:

Ensure you have medium/hot coals or preheat the oven to 180°C.

Combine all ingredients and mix until a dough is formed. Grease the 30 cm cast iron potjie and divide the dough into 12 equal balls. Spray the potjie with spray and cook and place the dough balls tightly in the potjie, place the lid on and bake for about 35-40 minutes or until cooked and browned.

For the Garlic and Herb Butter:

Combine all ingredients and set aside until needed.

Serve the easy potbrood buns warm with the garlic and herb butter.
