Your energy levels are low. So low that you’re cranky, doubling up on caffeine and eating anything within reach. And after a quick energy spike, you’re back to square one.
We’ve all experienced this, juggling work and play, or just cramming too much in to the day. So, what’s the answer? There is no one-size-fits-all, but we have five go-to ideas for a quick pick-me-up. Give them a try and let us know which one works best for you.

  1. Initiate

This may seem counterintuitive when you’re tired, but these wise words from a Medium article by Benjamin P Hardy struck a chord with us: “those who become successful initiateThey reach out to people, ask questions, make recommendations, offer to help, and pitch their ideas.”

Stop thinking about yourself for a moment, and reach out to someone else. You’ll be amazed at how energising it can be, even if it’s as simple as smiling at a stranger or taking 10-minutes to come up with an action plan for someone at the office.

  1. Get organised

Put on some upbeat music, or call a friend on speaker, and tackle the room in your home that most needs some TLC. Whether it’s filing a stack of papers on your desk, clearing out the store room or rearranging your kitchen cupboards – do one thing at a time so it doesn’t become overwhelming.

Invest in the right kitchen storage items, and furniture such as a mesh storage shelf. It’s a lightweight solution that is unobtrusive and ideal for small spaces.

  1. Perfect the power nap

Invest in a stylish sofa bed for your office or curl up on a retro tub chair for 20-minutes between meetings. Try to switch off completely, close your eyes, and let your mind wander even if you can’t actually sleep.

If you’re at home, slip in to a soft mink fleece gown and light a Moroccan fig diffuser for extra comfort and relaxation.

  1. Add to your bucket list

Take 10-minutes to jot down beautiful places you want to visit, short courses you want to enrol in, or new restaurants you want to try. Focus on things you’re passionate about, and that make you happy.

Next up – make them happen! Pick out a few favourites and start planning in more detail. Do this in short bursts as the perfect pick me up.

  1. Pour, sip and savour – and pamper those feet!
