5 SEASONAL INGREDIENTS FOR MARCH

 In How Tos, Inspiration

March is here which means summer is officially behind us and autumn has begun. Cooking seasonally means using fruits and vegetables that are matured and ripe now, instead of imported out of their natural growing season. Wondering how to tell what’s seasonal? If you buy from organic local growers at markets or independent shops, chances are their available selection will reflect what is fresh and seasonal.

Another big benefit to eating seasonally is that food grown and eaten at the correct time usually have a better, fuller flavour than those imported and artificially ripened out of their natural growing seasons.

So, what fruits are in season now in South Africa?
