DATE NIGHT SORTED: A CHEESE BOARD FOR TWO

It’s no lie, time really does fly when you’re busy and before you know it it’s the end of the week and you’ve hardly spent any quality time with your significant other. Reconnecting after a busy week doesn’t necessarily mean a date night at a fancy restaurant. It could be as simple as making a classy cheese board that feels just as special as if you had gone out.  

If you’ve had a crazy week and would like to keep your date night simple yet equally special,  stay at home with a delicious platter that won’t take long to prep. These tips are just what you’ll need to create the perfect evening.  

Start off with the basics – a combination of cheeses, charcuterie, crackers (these are a must on any cheeseboard) served on one of our Acacia wood serving boards, the perfect addition for any platter.  

If you’d like to add some fruit and veggies to your platter, go ahead. Some ingredients that are known to spark romance are asparagus, olives and grapes; add figs for some delicate sweetness and strawberries to give some colour to your board. It’s always important to have a good cheese knife set to help with the cutting and spreading of the cheese and the other ingredients. Soft cheese spreads well with a butter knife; firm cheese might require a paring knife; and aged cheese often requires a cheese plane.
