FINDING MORE DAY-TO-DAY BALANCE IN 2021
2020 took us by surprise and we had to learnt to adapt on the move. Suddenly we were all working from home, being a teacher for our kids and learning to be master bakers and home chefs. It was a crazy and busy, sometimes difficult, sometimes wonderous year.
But we were all thrown a bit off balance. Work hours blended into family time and the kids joined some of our online meetings (uninvited)! This year we have big plans to do it all better – or at least with a bit more balance.
Here are some easy ways to get started:
- Give yourself more time
Whether this comes in the form of an extra 30 minutes to enjoy a quiet coffee in the morning before work or an indulgent snooze under the covers, time for yourself is important for your mental and physical wellbeing.
Time-saving appliances are also a great way to squeeze in more me-time while still getting to all the other things you need to do in the day.

2. Surround yourself with the things that make you happy
Happiness is a state of mind. And there is something about beauty that encourages those good feelings. From the décor you choose, the scatter pillows on your bed, a vase of beautiful stems to your new favourite Le Creuset mug, even the smallest object of beauty can do wonders for your mood.

3. Learn to let go
Some things we can’t change like a Monday morning status meeting or kids school runs. And then there are the things we can like switching to healthier eating habits or ensuring you get better rest with a new bed, mattress or bedding. Focus on what you can change and let go of what you can’t and you will soon feel better.

4. Keep things simple and uncomplicated
The start of the year is a great time to clean out the cupboards and create some breathing room in our homes and our lives. It’s difficult to keep our balance when so much clutter is weighing us down. Find simple storage solutions for every room, making sure you have a good balance of homeware essentials and a few favourite, top quality splurges that complete your home.
