In Inspiration

1With the sunshine finally peeking through the clouds, there is a glimmer of hope for crisp sunny spring days. Spring cleaning isn’t just about throwing out old things and dusting off the cob webs, it’s also about new beginnings and transforming your space to suit the season.

It’s the perfect time of the year to make a list of the things you really need and then tailor your space to suit your family. Whether it’s a big change like new curtains or a carpet, or a simple change like new wall art to hang over your dining room table, you’ll need to decide what lengths you’re willing to take to give your home a refresh. Browse through our new spring lookbook for some inspiration to get started.

2Although it is very exciting to go shopping and buy new décor, you’ll first need to decide what to get rid of and what can stay. Throw away or donate anything you haven’t used in the last year and then the rest of your items need to be neatly stored away.

In your kitchen, store items you don’t use regularly in cupboards or in a stylish copper wire shelf.  For your guest bedroom, get yourself a sophisticated euro chest of drawers to store away linen, towels and other items you don’t need all that often.

Rose gold, wood and white

3Now that you’ve cleared the way for new items, it’s time to have some fun. The most important room to focus on is the one you and your guests spend the most time in, which is likely to be your living room. You can really go all out in this space, starting by changing your colour scheme to suit the new season.

Rose gold, wood and white are all on trend this season. Change things up with new lamps and lampshades, a Valentina lampshade and Lisa lamp stand, which will create the perfect elegant look. If your sofa needs some brightening up, add a few hints of coral and blush with summer throws and cushions.

Pinterest-perfect bedroom

This space is your safe haven and the perfect place to relax – a few décor changes can have your room looking like something from a Pinterest board in no time. First thing you’ll need to do is invest in brand new linen and sheets, a duck egg Egyptian cotton duvet cover and a microfiber fitted bottom sheet which are all essentials for your bed.

4Then place a few elegant geometric embroidery scatter cushions on the bed for that sophisticated feel. Next to your bed, keep your favourite book on a retro pedestal side table, and for your dressing table get yourself a classic marble jewellery stand. Then to finish off the look hang a printed canvas of the Paris cityscape over your bed.

Time to entertain

Your kitchen shouldn’t need too much décor, as it’s a space to get your hands dirty. That said, a few practical and pretty touches will go a long way: display your favourite recipes in this nifty and stylish Teepee recipe stand in white and wood; then store away your salt in beautiful copper and mango wood pot; and 5your coffee and tea in these grey honeycomb texture canisters.

Your dining room is a space to entertain guests, so you’ll need to make a good impression. First give your dining room table a little TLC with a Maison duck egg table cloth, Maison napkins and then place a few metal charger placemats for a more modern feel.  Make sure you pull out all the stops with new serveware, you’ll love the acacia wood leaf serve board for snacks and the stoneware salad bowl and acacia wood stand. To set the mood place candles in stunning ceramic candle holder and cut some fresh blooms and place them in rustic ceramic vases. Then all that’s left to do is enjoy your dinner party!

With all these décor tips to keep in mind, it’s time to celebrate a fresh new season with a home style that suits your personality.
