GOURMET BURGERS TO SHARE
Try these gourmet burgers for your next games night. They won’t disappoint and is a great way to get friends or family together cooking in the kitchen.

Serves 4

INGREDIENTS
For the Lamb and Beef Patties:
500g lamb mince
500g beef mince
10ml (2 tsp) ground coriander
10ml (2 tsp) ground cumin
10ml (2 tsp) smoked paprika
Handful of fresh herbs, chopped
For the Balsamic Onion:
2 onions, sliced
2 garlic cloves, grated
60ml (4 Tbsp) balsamic vinegar
30ml (2 Tbsp) red wine
30ml (2 Tbsp) dark brown sugar
Salt and black pepper, to taste
For the Spicy Tomato Relish:
1 tin (400g) cherry tomatoes
30ml (2 Tbsp) sundried tomatoes, drained and chopped
15ml (1 Tbsp) sriracha sauce
2cm fresh ginger, peeled and grated
2 garlic cloves, grated
10ml (2 tsp) smoked paprika
Toppings and Assembling:
4 x burger buns
60ml (1/4 cup) burger mayo
8 slices of Emmentaler cheese
8 streaky bacon strips
Wild rocket, to taste
Micro herbs
Sweet potato fries

METHOD
For the Lamb and Beef Patties:
Combine all ingredients and mix well. Divide meat in 4 portions and form patties.
For the Balsamic Onion:
In a medium pan, heat oil. Sauté onions until translucent. Add balsamic, red wine and sugar. Cook on a low heat for about 10-12 minutes until dark and caramelised.
For the Spicy Tomato Relish:
Combine all ingredients in a small pot. Cook the relish for about 10 -15 minutes on a moderate heat. Turn heat off and set aside until needed.
Toppings and Assembling: Toast lightly buttered burger buns in a warm pan. Top with burger mayo, patty, cheese, caramelised balsamic onion and rocket. Serve with sweet potato fries and spicy tomato relish.
