Inspired by a clean, natural palette, highlighted with soft shades of blush and a few strokes of blue, these are the colours to watch out for the coming summer season.

At first blush

Soft blush pantones accentuate your space’s natural light

The first colour for the season is a shrimp blush pink hybrid which makes this colour not too juvenile or too sweet. It can be used as you would a neutral, accentuating the light in your space.

Be sure to add some blush tones in your home. Choose one or two pieces for each room like the Smeg stand mixer in pink for the kitchen, a scatter or light throw for the living room or bedroom and a few blush towels for your guest bathroom.

Add it to your walls: We recommend Plascon Ceramic Peach, both deliciously cheeky and naturally soothing.

All natural

Stay grounded with natural tones and textures

Neutrals really come into their own these coming seasons. Whites, beiges, pale greys and blush pink are super on-trend and can be used throughout the home.

In fact, a great natural colour can have the same effect as a window creating a lighter look.

When thinking neutrals also consider texture and pattern. Organic materials provide interesting, more tactile textures while designs and patterns look to nature for inspiration.

This natural cushion looks great on your new Malawian chair. Or mix a few different shades of natural in the bedroom with a new carpet, throws and classic white bedding.

Add it to your walls: We recommend Plascon Mosaic, a subtle shade that keeps your home cool, calm and connected.

A different kind of blue

Don’t be afraid to play around with a few notes of blue

Blues comes in all shades and tones. Deep and bright blues can add fast drama to your space while softer blues have a calming effect. Saturated teals are our favourite for the season with a more vintage feel.

You can never have too much blue but how you use it is up to your individual taste. Choose one striking piece in blue like this Chelsey 3 seater sofa to make a statement or create a cool palette with some blue accessories and small pieces like blue glass on the dining table. Update your bedding to blue for a more meditative feel.

Add it to your walls: We recommend Plascon Neptune’s Castle for a strong maritime hue or Atlantis Cliff for a blue that captures the essence of a cool sea-spray mist.
