MEET THE ORGANISERS: THE HOME EDIT
Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin are both California transplants, currently living in Nashville, USA. Brought together by a mutual friend, it was friendship at first text, and business partnership immediately thereafter.
The goal in starting The Home Edit was to reinvent traditional organizing, and merge it with design and interior styling.
While every project is rooted in functional systems that can be maintained for the long term, there is just as much emphasis placed on transforming the space visually and adding their signature stylized aesthetic.
By teaming up with iDesign, a modular organizational solution was born bringing versatile storage that meets everyone’s needs across kitchen, bathroom, kids rooms, bedroom and any cupboard that needs organizing.

The Home Edit: A guide to organizing and realizing your goals
Every single space has the potential to function and look beautiful at the same time–even the dreaded pantry or bedroom closet. Whether you live in an urban studio or a suburban three bedroom, learning the Home Edit System–a new approach to home organizing by thinking about your things in groupings and how they “flow” through your space–will completely transform the way you live. By editing every room and organizing your things in a functional way (which takes a little time and effort, but is key to a lasting effect), you’ll treasure your home more and save money by not buying what you already have.
At home or on the go, you don’t have to live like a minimalist to feel happy and calm. The Home Edit mentality is all about embracing your life–whether you’re a busy mom, a roommate living with three, or someone who’s always traveling for work. You just need to know how to set up a system that works for you.
In the next phase of the home organizing craze, Clea and Joanna go beyond the pantry and bookshelf to show you how to contain the chaos in all aspects of your life, from office space and holiday storage to luggage and pet supplies. Get to know your organizing style, tailor it to your family’s lifestyle, and lead the low-guilt life as you apply more genius ideas to every aspect of your life.
Clea and Joanna are here to remind you that “it’s okay to own things” in the quest for pretty and smart spaces.
