Our Favourite Things About Heritage Day

Heritage Day is on its way. The days are getting longer, the air is getting warmer and braai’s across South Africa are being cleaned in preparation for the 24th of September. Celebrate with friends and family and enjoy the perfect African Alfresco for a local and traditional Heritage Day.

BREAKFAST

Whether it is a late breakfast with your friends or an early one with family there is something so special about taking the first meal of the day outdoors. For a no-fuss breakfast that’ll save space for later, think one-pan-traditional breakfast, with a good coffee made in your Nespresso Citiz, or if you have lots of people over, made the simple way in your Baccarat Venice Coffee Plunger.

LUNCH

A Heritage Day lunch may start early but they can go on for as long as you wish. Just sit back, enjoy the company and celebrate our local Heritage under the warm African Sun. If you are having lots of people over make use of the Madera range and set everything out on your table before they arrive. The Dune dining table is perfect for big lunches.

DRINKS

Outdoor entertaining in the late afternoon and early evening can be a magical affair. Start the afternoon with a few refreshing Spring cocktails, the @home Cocktail Shaker will add a bit of days-end sophistication, or keep a few bottles of bubbly chilled in your champagne tub to toast to the simplicity and tradition of cooking and eating by the fire.

Make it a Heritage Day of celebrations filled with local flavours, drinks and hand-crafted homeware.
