2 cups flour, sifted

4 tsp baking powder

2 Tbsp sugar

2 tsp cinnamon

½ tsp salt

1 ¾ cup milk

½ cup oil

1 tsp vanilla essence

2 eggs

2 large oranges

1 Tbsp olive oil

4 Tbsp cup honey

½ cup cream

1 tsp vanilla (extract is best)

2 Tbsp icing sugar

Edible flowers

Orange peel curls


In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, sugar, cinnamon and salt together.

In a separate bowl, whisk the milk, oil, vanilla and eggs together.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry, whisking until just combined and so there are no lumps. Allow to sit for 5 minutes.

Heat the waffle machine. Pour in the batter and allow to cook until golden and cooked through.

Peel the oranges and slice them into 1cm thick rounds.

Heat the olive oil and honey in a pan over a medium-high heat. Add the orange slices and allow them to cook until slightly softened and caramelising. Remove from the pan.

Put the cream, vanilla and icing sugar into a bowl. Whisk until medium-stiff peaks form.

Serve your warm waffles topped with the oranges and whipped vanilla cream. Garnish with edible flowers and orange peel curls
