In @Home loves, How Tos

Nespresso is proud to partner with @home to extend their recycling network, as part of their commitment to sustainability. Nespresso encourages all coffee lovers to recycle their used coffee capsules in an effort to divert waste from landfills and turn used coffee capsules into repurposed products and to generate green energy.

You can now recycle your used Nespresso capsules at these participating @home stores:

Sandton City

Brooklyn Mall

The Pavilion

Cape Town

Constantia Village

Century City

Look out for the Nespresso recycling bins at these stores and simply drop off your used capsules in your Nespresso recycling bag, (Nespresso recycling bags are supplied at Nespresso with each coffee purchase).

Sustainable quality is the driving force behind Nespresso and is the reason that extraordinary lengths are taken to ensure meaningful consumption. As part of this vision, Nespresso has set new sustainability goals for 2020 in the areas of coffee sourcing, social welfare, aluminium sourcing and resilience to climate change.

Nespresso uses aluminium for all capsules to protect their coffee and ensure you get the freshest cup every time. It provides the best protection against oxygen, light and humidity, which can greatly affect the taste.

But that’s just the start of it – aluminium is also 100% and infinitely recyclable, meaning Nespresso coffee capsules start as, and become, new aluminium products once recycled.

Through the recovery and recycling of its used capsules, Nespresso is significantly reducing its environmental impact. Sourcing recycled aluminium not only eliminates unnecessary waste but also saves up to 95% of the energy needed to produce aluminium from its raw state.
