STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE OVERNIGHT OATS
These oats taste like you are cheating on whatever diet you are on, but in fact, they are gluten-free, free of refined sugars and can be a cheeky treat! WIN!
Difficulty – Easy
Prep time – 10min
Cooking time – None
Total time – Overnight
Serves 4-6
INGREDIENTS
500ml (2 cups) oats
500ml (2 cups) almond milk/dairy milk
45ml (3 Tbsp) maple syrup
30ml (2 Tbsp) chia seeds
(¼ tsp) cinnamon
250ml (1 cup) of plain yoghurt/vegan yoghurt
250ml (1 cup) puréed strawberries
60ml (¼ cup) crushed almonds
METHOD
In a bowl, mix together the oats, milk, syrup, chia seeds and cinnamon.
Either make this in one large jar, or in 4 separate serving jars. Layer the oats in first, then the yoghurt, and finally the strawberry purée!
Bang in the fridge overnight and serve with the crushed almonds.
You might think that overnight oats can only be served cold. Nay, nay! You can easily pop your oats in the microwave for a nice hot breakfast!
