THE AIR FRYER LIFE IS HERE TO STAY
“Have you tried your air fryer for …?” has become dinner party talk, die-hard braaiers are conceding that a good air fryer will cook roast chicken or lamb sosaties better than they can, and everyone from students, singletons and pensioners to busy moms on-the-go agree that air fryers have made cooking simpler, better and faster.
Instant Vortex Leads The Air Fryer Charge
Instant® Brands is one of SA’s leading kitchen and cooking appliance brands and are the brains behind the ground-breaking Instant Pot® electric cooker, the Instant® Vortex suite of Air Fryers, as well as the dual-purpose Instant Pot Duo Crisp + Air Fryer.
The Instant Vortex Air Fryer hit SA shores in 2019, and such was the hype that all units were sold before they even hit the shelves. In fact, sales have shown little sign of slowing down ever since. In just three years, Instant Brands South Africa has released a total of six Air Fryer models, including the ground-breaking Instant Vortex Plus with ClearCook™ Air Fryer – consistent best-on-the-market winner since its launch just a few months ago.
The newest addition to the Instant family, the Instant Vortex Plus with VersaZone, landed in SA this year and offers a single and dual drawer in one with more solves than anything ever seen. Thanks to patented technology, it is now possible to prepare different foods independently and at different temperatures. It’s a game changer for cooks of all levels and persuasions and is certainly on its way to making regular ovens obsolete.
What about basket size?
The Instant Vortex revolutionised the basket shape to be the biggest in its class and with a much more efficient and much-loved square shape that consumers love.” Additionally, at 8.5 litres the Instant Vortex Plus with VersaZone is the largest, single-drawer air fryer in South Africa.
Make the perfect meat balls recipe in your air fryer
Save on your electricity bill, by investing in Instant® Brands air fryers and pressure cookers!
Reducing household energy consumption is front of mind for all South African’s at the moment. Rising electricity costs coupled with the country’s lack of power and need for the implementation of load shedding means families are looking to alternative, energy saving, extra fast ways of preparing their favourite meals.
In a recent independent UK study*, it was discovered that cooking in an electric oven costs five times more than cooking in a Vortex air fryer or Instant Pot electric pressure cooker – that’s a saving of more than 80% across energy consumption, and cost.
This study put the Instant Pot electric pressure cooker, and Instant Vortex air fryer to the test, cooking a whole chicken recipe in each appliance and comparing it to the same preparation in a conventional oven – and the results speak for themselves!
Pressure cooking used an average of 0.57 kWh per kg of raw chicken, which is equivalent to an average of 4.4 times less energy required to roast the chicken in the oven. Similarly, air frying consumed an average 0.44 kWh per kg of raw chicken, which represents about 5.2 times less energy if you were to cook the chicken in the oven – it’s a no-brainer, right? If you’re looking to reduce your household energy consumption even more, or if you’re transitioning to living ‘off the grid’, the Instant Brands products are a must!
